Making Saturn and Uranus Opposition work for you

Saturn and Uranus have a tug of war relationship. They push and pull each other continuing a flow of order and disorder, tradition or change. What has always been done and the new way. These two planets with thier energy need each other and often they become each other as well

Learning to use this power will make a person very powerful.

Saturn is all about discipline, structure, rules. Its known as the planet of responsibility and symbolized ethics of hard work. Keeping that nose to the grindstone sort of deal. Saturn will discipline us until we can discipline ourselves. It's the planet of thoroughness, self control and limitation.
It rules stability, maturity, and practicality. Its cold, and harsh and restrictive. Think about being in the military...This is the Saturn energy at work.

These are the important things that we need to get things done. Without Saturn nothing would happen, people would think about it, get the idea and just let fly by the way side.

Uranus is about new ideas and brings about events and opportunities
. It stirs, shocks and revolutionizes. It is responsible for the flash of the human mastermind that creates something new, whether it is art or science. It is known as the planet of the future, associated with modern science, invention, electricity, humanitarian movements, and revolution. Uranus’s influence tends to make someone undisciplined, reckless, and stubborn. They have an abrupt manner, rebelliousness, and unpredictable moods.

Using the Uranus energy that stirs up our lives or things for change and newness. When we get that idea that just seems so crazy like quitting our job to start out own business this is Uranus talking. But all the talking doesn't get anything done. Uranus needs to team up with Saturn is lives for the work to flow. Together these two power houses can change the world.

I am heavily influenced by Uranus. I come up with a lot of great ideas. Things like doing tai chi and pilates to fix my back. Or coming up with great ideas of books. But not much gets done because I don't use Saturn. In fact being and Aquarius and heavily influenced by Uranus I abhor attachments, confinement, routine, rituals. I hate being stuck to something, and doing it over and over again. Its just not my style. But in the end this lack of discipline really hurts me because many of my ideas simply flow back into the ether perhaps for someone else to use. No somehow i have to find away to start working with Saturn's energy, to establish some discipline in my life to get my projects off the ground and drive them through the finish line.

This rebellion that I have and other do to isn't a rebellion that is rebelling again'st anything other than ourselves. Its a away of wasting ourlives.

I think there are areas of my life where the Saturn energy of structure, discipline, boundaries, and responsibility can really help me. But there are other parts of my life that are so rigid, uptight, depressed, and way to serious where that Uranus lighting can free me. So that's what I need to do. Try to put some Saturn where I have too much Uranus and put some Uranus where I have way too much Saturn. Like my job. I take it too serious. I work too hard for what they pay me, people get by doing half what I do and they don't burn themselves out. I need to really lighten up and not be so rigid and hard working. Learn to relax a little.

And yes there are aspects like my health where Saturn will really help, like not eating so much fast food and sodium, and also doing some stretching exercises to help with my posture and balance.

Enjoy what's right here, right now...For better and worse, it won't last forever. Nothing ever does.

Smell the flowers while you can

With all that is going on in life ( busy, busy busy everywhere you go) sometimes its hard to stop and smell the roses. Realizing that each moment in time is precious and that it won't last for ever it would be best to learn to savor it while you can.

Sometimes I look back at my remember some really amazing things. Like a German Choco Cake they use to have at my job. It was free all you could it and to this day I remember it and crave it. But I remember I did eat plenty of it. Then there were people that I got know and talk to that I don't see anymore.

Even music. There was a musician i use to listen to at the park and have not seen in a while. I appreciate all those songs. I haven't been appreciating my life that much lately. Hard to with so much stress going on. But maybe even that should be enjoyable. Haven't mastered that yet. But I'm going to try tomorrow to enjoy my job, enjoy that I have two hands and feet and can run and walk and can move on my freely.

The Saturn-Uranus Opposition By Eileen McCabe

I found a great article about the clash of the titans energy that all around right now....
http://www.astrologynyc.org/Resources/Saturn-Uranus.pdf

The Saturn-Uranus Opposition

By Eileen McCabe

Astrologers have always argued over whether it’s fate or free will. Do the transits
happen to us or are they a reflection of what is occurring within our own psyches? Will
the transits define the outcome or is it about how we psychologically respond to a
particular planetary archetype? As Carl Jung once said “when an inner situation is not
made conscious, it happens outside as fate. Which brings us to the Saturn/Uranus
opposition of 2008-9.

It’s obvious that the two nominees now running for President of the United States
symbolically reflect what is taking place within the collective unconscious. Do people
choose tradition, convention, and experience or do they choose new ideas, change and
uncharted territory? The same could obviously be said for our own personal lives. Since
any opposition is a relational aspect, we usually identify with one planet over the other
and then project the other onto someone or something outside of ourselves. The problem
with that though is that we wind up in a very polarized situation where there is tension
and little compromise.

While we may be more identified with Saturn or Uranus based on our own
horoscope configurations, we are all conservative and status quo where we have Saturn
and seek creative change and freedom where we have Uranus. We experience Saturn as
oppressive external authority until we take responsibility for our own lives. We complain
about the unpredictability or instability of other people until we own our own need to
overthrow the limitations and constrictions that block our creativity. If the goal of
psychological health is the integration of the many different aspects of who we are as
human beings then the upcoming Saturn/Uranus opposition becomes an extreme
manifestation of what individuals and society are dealing with on a regular basis.

We need structure and stability in our lives but not at the expense of our
uniqueness and individuality. Is the structure of your life stifling the parts of yourself
that are left unrealized and frustrated? Or, is the structure of your life providing a
container from within which you can be a creative force of change in your own life and in
society? Do the cultural norms and values of society reflect the individual needs of all its
citizens or not? These are some of the questions that we may have to ask ourselves as
individuals and as a society during this time.

Saturn and Uranus are antithetical to each other and that makes this opposition
even more dramatic. If you remember 1965-66, or if you were born during that time,
then you will have no problem understanding the intensity of what this opposition holds
in store for all of us during 2008-9. The 60’s were an explosion of creativity, social
upheaval and change but it could not have come into existence if there wasn’t a
counterforce resisting that change to the status quo. While the Saturn/Uranus opposition
of the 1960’s was a chaotic and explosive time, real change was then integrated into the
very fabric of our society. It is hard for us today to even imagine that African-American
citizens were actually told to move to the back of the bus. It will be equally unthinkable
in many years from now to think that gay people didn’t have the right to legal marriages.
This is not to present an idealistic or rosy picture of this configuration. I can’t
think of two more opposing and antithetical energies working at the same time in our
lives and in society. We can all feel the rumblings of inevitable change and yet we have
no real clue as to what this really means or how it will actually manifest both individually
and societal. We may all feel restless for a revolution in our lives but not at the expense
of losing a foundation. We need structure but not at the expense of our individuality.
Where you have Saturn-in-Virgo transiting in your horoscope right now, you need
to be responsible, patient, and mature and answer to the demands of your life. You are
also seeking a grasp on the details of your life, a need for clarity and a sense of
perfectionism. Where you have Uranus-in-Pisces transiting, the waters are rising and you
may feel flooded with a deep need and desire to somehow radically change and alter the
preexisting patterns of your life. One planetary energy represents a sense of order and
cohesion while the other symbolizes the watery depths of the unconscious that is
beckoning you to sever and overthrow whatever is limiting your spiritual and creative
yearnings.

Whether it is actual flooding in various parts of the country and/or a tsunami
stirring in your own psyche, even the rings of Saturn cannot prevent the archetypal power
of an outer planet transit. Whatever is repressed either personally or in society eventually finds its way into consciousness no matter what the cost. Accidents, shocking news, sudden reversals, the unpredictable forces of nature and/or a conscious decision to alter the course of one’s life; Uranus is the great messenger of divine discontent compelling us to free ourselves of outmoded karma.

Saturn is the builder and the voice of time and authority. Saturn says we need to
move slowly and to make changes in increments so as not to cause damage to preexisting
structures. The Saturn type personality values tradition, continuity and a sense
of stability. Saturn is also the great teacher, the toll we must pay before we can develop
ourselves on higher levels. Uranus is the complete opposite in that it is without
sentimentality and a loyalty to tradition because its only goal is to express and fulfill the
individuated needs of the soul. While Saturn is wisdom and experience, Uranus is a
cosmic intelligence and brilliance that brings novelty, unconventionality and a new
vision.

It is inevitable with this configuration that there will be moments of extremism. If
there is too much chaos and revolution, Saturn will enter to bring back a semblance of
order and normalcy. If there is a clamping down on the rights and freedom of any group
of individuals, the more there will be a need for social and political activism. With an
opposition, you can’t have one without the other. Who or what will be the force of
tradition in your life, and who and what will symbolize an unbridled creative force that
can’t be stifled? Let’s not forget that Uranus is not just about personal individuation but
the realization of one’s unique contribution to the evolvement of consciousness. If
Uranus is a cosmic messenger, how will your particular genius express itself in the
world? On a societal level, how do you see your cosmic destiny, your contribution to the
scheme of things? With Uranus, we awaken to the truth of ourselves and finally live out
who we really are without making any apologies.

As we know, there will be three different oppositions at different degrees of
mutability. The first will be on November 4, 2008 at 18 degrees Virgo/Pisces and then
on February 5, 2009 at 20 degrees and then on September 15, 2009 at 24 degrees. On a
personal level, if you have planets or angles at these degrees, it is safe to say that you will
experience great intensity and change in relation to those areas of your life. In many
ways, the destiny of your personal life right now may mirror the forces of change in the
collective unconscious. While transits come and go throughout our lives, there are times
when a force greater than ourselves moves us forward to new horizons. I think this will
be one such moment for all of us.

Uranus and Sarturn....Laurel and Hardy Opposition

The push and pull energy of life gives it its highs and lows and its change and stability. Without it, life would not be as much fun for either we would live in a flat line.

For the last two years there has been a tremendous energy of change as the Saturn Uranus Opposition continues till about July 2010. These two planets have a tremendous push and pull energy that remind me of Laurel and Hardy.

Stanley gets into trouble and Hardy tries to fix it in his know it all fashion but really only winds up making the problems worse. These two can not exist without each other and though they are always at each other throats they are truly two sides of the same coin.

Uranus (Laurel) brings chaos and change and Saturn (Hardy) bring control and order. Saturn is actually there to keep Uranus from destroying everything and Uranus is there to keep Saturn from over controlling everything to the point of no freedom and no fun. Think of a prison...yup that is how Saturn likes it. By the rules and everybody under control. Uranus is more like the Sixties...freedom...peace and love. But eventually even too many tie die shirts and Dead concerts can make a person sick.

So as much as these two bicker and pull and push each other apart, they really need each, they bring balance to each other and to the world. There have been many good things come from other Saturn Uranus opposition.

The sixties was all about freedom and civil rights. Hard to believe that not even a hundred years ago certain people could not vote, certain people were seen as less than a person in this country. Even women's rights have not been around very long. It was forbidden for women to own land, now they can own corporations and can even run for president.

So just like the sixties were a turbulent time of change these last few years up till now and the next two will be a big time for change from health care, to immigration, to social security, to energy and regulating government spending and perhaps bringing something back to the people and not just corporations. There is a balance that needs to be restored. When things are out of balance it seems that there is tremendous anxiety.

from:THE OPPOSITION FROM SATURN TO URANUS, 2008-2010,
AND A LOOK AHEAD TO 2012

http://www.astrodynamics.net/Articles/Cycles/Saturn-Uranus-opposition.htm
The next Saturn/Uranus opposition occurred in the spring of 1964, this time with Saturn in Pisces and Uranus in Virgo. This effects of this opposition are inextricably woven in with the conjunction of Uranus to Pluto that occurred at the same time, so the pressure for conformity of Saturn was battling not only with Uranus but also with the powerful climactic urge of Pluto for change and transformation. This was a period of unprecedented cultural rebellion and revolution: so-called "free love" and open marriage, revolutionary ideas in psychology and psychiatry, Black Power and the civil rights movement, Women's Liberation and the battle for female equality. The Beatles and the British Invasion, and Chubby Checker brought black music into the homes of middle class white folks for the first time.

ENJOY THE JOY RIDE

Posted by Picasa
She said Hello you fool, I love you...c'mon join the Joy Ride...join the Joy Ride

It's hard to know where life will lead us. We're taught to believe that we can actually dictate where we are suppose to go but really sometimes its just a ride that we aren't in control of. Where this car will stop no body knows.

Destination anywhere and I don’t know where I'm going but sometimes it just the joy of the ride that really counts not the destination. So enjoy the ride.

These last few days have been like a little vacation for me and it would be easy to feel guilty but there's nothing wrong with a little pleasure in life from time to time. I have lived these last few days and I feel good. It was ride i never expected, definitely not in my plans but hey I'm done with trying to get there, I'm just going along for the ride.

Too many times in this busy world, in my busy life I'm all about finishing and getting there. I think we all are and that is what causes so much strife and tension. Get there, finish it, and start on the next thing and get there as quick as you can too. Which explains where there has been so much stress and tension in the air lately. Its been hot, I have been pushing myself to work, to do more, to accomplish more and well I think I missed out and just having fun.

Have to remind myself about Wu Wei and letting go of all the targets and all the goals and simply do with out the sake of aiming to win or accomplish. If i win, I win but not because it was my goal to win but simply that is the out come that came about. Sure this sounds easy but its not.

Today is the last day of Aries, the sign that teaches about starting. Tomorrow is the first day of Taurus the sign of pleasure and enjoyment. Very cool. Taurus is about enjoying the ride, sometime enjoying it a little too much.
