Mp3 quality

$1 Per Song? No Way! 5 Cheaper Alternatives For The iTunes Store

xorsyst

If you care about quality that much – buy the cd and rip it lossless. Given the general lack of price difference, I always go this route, and then convert it to mp3 for portable listening. I’ll be really happy the day amazon or someone starts selling lossless encodings online instead of lossy.

As for MP3 vs AAC – well, that one’s still under much discussion. It does depend dramatically on the settings. But what still amazes me is that Itunes, amazon, etc. are using fixed bit-rate. It’s pretty much the worst of both worlds on the quality/size scale – by going variable you can (generally) get superior quality in a smaller download.

Finally – please can articles like this one stop implying that CDs are analog.

Carbs depression

Discovery Health "Ginger Better than Drugs for Pain?"

Dr. Srivastava also found that ginger was superior to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Tylenol or Advil because NSAIDs only work on one level: to block the formation of inflammatory compounds. Ginger, on the other hand, blocks the formation of the inflammatory compounds-prostaglandins and leukotrienes-and also has antioxidant effects that break down existing inflammation and acidity in the fluid within the joints.

Surprising Pepsi Taste Test Results: Sugar vs. High Fructose Corn Syrup

Pepsi has been creating soft drinks since 1898, and the formula hasn't changed much since then. But in the 1980s, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) replaced cane sugar as the soda's sweetener because HFCS was cheaper than cane sugar (the U.S. government had levied tariffs on imported cane sugar and was now subsidizing the production of corn). There was little to no choice for soda manufacturers but to switch to HFCS.

alcohol is a toxin

Why Do I Sweat When I Drink Alcohol? | LIVESTRONG.COM
alcohol is a toxinDrinking is so prevalent that you may forget that alcohol is a toxin -- one that has numerous effects on your physical and mental functioning. Sweating is one of the common repercussions.

Sweating

This accumulation of alcohol contributes to the many effects it has on the body -- including sweating. Alcohol causes blood vessels near the skin to dilate, or enlarge. This dilation also occurs during physical activity and helps instigate the sweating process. This not only leads to perspiration but also explains why you feel hot while drinking; however, this is misleading. This physiological activity allows the body to release heat, thereby actually lowering your body temperature. This is why drinking alcohol is a risk factor for hypothermia.

Alcohol Intolerance

If your sweating is excessive -- even after just drinking a small amount -- you may have alcohol intolerance. Deficiency in the enzyme aldehyde dehydrogenase, necessary for breaking down alcohol, may be the culprit. In addition to sweating, you may experience gastrointestinal distress and skin flushing, or redness. This type of intolerance is more common if you are of Asian ethnicity, according to the University of Notre Dame's Office of Alcohol and Drug Education. Women are also more likely to have fewer enzymes for alcohol metabolism.

Alcohol and Sweating
Also, some people have a condition called alcohol intolerance, wherein they cannot tolerate even slight amounts of alcohol and end up with symptoms like excessive sweating and gastrointestinal distress.

Alcohol night sweats

Alcohol and Sweating
There are numerous causes of night sweats, one of them being alcohol. Sweating at night has a close relation with alcohol. Hence, if you suffer from excessive sweating at night and you also consume alcohol regularly, your health care professional will ask you to reduce or avoid the consumption of alcohol, to treat the problem. The other change, which might be suggested is to cut down on spicy food.

Body sees alcohol as a threat poison

Alcohol and Sweating
The other reason behind excessive sweating after alcohol consumption, is the body's activation of fight or flight response. Alcohol is perceived by the body to be a threat. The body, therefore, flushes alcohol out of the body through sweat.

Why does one beer make me sweat?
Alcohol does not warm the body. The small capillaries under the skin dilate in response to alcohol creating the sensation of warmth, but your body temperature actually drops following the intake of alcohol.

6. Get up early.

11 Sleep Habits of Successful People
6. Get up early.

This is the secret ingredient of success. If you want to accomplish big things and stay organized, get up early. I try to get up every day at 5:30; I write for an hour, meditate for half an hour, walk my dogs, make breakfast and then get ready for work. I can’t stress enough the benefits of this habit.

The Kale Shake is Awesome – So Upgrade It
Shannon Drake

Hey Dave, So I have some insight for your wife. I started having "lady area" discomfort when I was about 20, I thought I had chronic UTI's and would just go to the doctor to get anti-biotics. The doctors handed them over without question, never investigating why a perfectly healthy 20 year old was constantly coming in for meds. The pain would come and go but at about 24 it was coming more than going (pun intended) and it came on so strongly I stopped having sex at all for a good 6months. It was so bad I would go home early from work and sit in a warm bathtub for hours.

I went to about 5 gynecologist who gave me a myriad of reasons/excuses... stress, depression, hormones... no reason at all. The problem was I was not stressed or depressed or hormonal, in fact I was quite the opposite. Finally, one day I was at yet another gyno apointment, butt just feeling the breeze in my gown... I asked my gyno "what in the world COULD be wrong, i've come in over 20 times I've gone to 4 other gynocologists.. I mean..." then it struck me like a bus... gynocologist... I've only been going to gynocologists! What else is in that area? Your bladder and urethra! I asked my gyno if she thoght I should go to a urologist, her eyes lit up and she sent me stright upstairs to a urologist.

The waiting room was 100% men and I could see why not one single gyno thought to send me to a urologist. I met with the doctor, explained my chronic UTI problem and how no one knew what was wrong. He looked at me and said "Are you ready to feel better because I know whats wrong and I'm so glad you came" Long story short, they ran some rather uncomfortable tests and diagnosed me with Interstitial cystitis. Another "we don't really know what causes it" disease but there are very specific FOOD guidelines that thousands of women have compiled. Along with some "emergency" medication solutions if you have a flare-up

After doing a bland two week diet then re-introducing items I found my triggers. They tend to fall into tiers from:

Inedible:
Bananas (the devil in a yellow jacket)
tomatoes
black pepper

Avoid in raw form and excess:
Coffee
Black Tea
Gluten (which I now avoid for other reasons)

Use with moderation, do not combine with other triggers:
Chocolate
Paprika (nightshades seem to be a theme)

The short rules are avoid high acid, high potassium, and I find gluten and nightshades.

I now feel 100% 90% of the time (some times a lady has to eat some chocolate and coffee!) BTW I ordered some of your coffee in hopes i can tollerate more of it than normal :) Anyways sorry for the novel, I meet a lot of women with "painful sex" "chronic UTI's" or various lady problems that are solved after I shed the IC (Interstitial cystitis) light on things. I hope she finds this helpful, sex is awesome... no lady should go without!

follow your passion and not the money.

10 Reasons Why Following Your Passion Is More Important Than Money
This generation is particularly in trouble because jobs are scarce and many of us will be stuck doing jobs we hate just because we need money. Although this may be the right move for our careers now, this shouldn’t be something we do for the rest of our lives. it is best we search for something we are passionate about. Here are the 10 reasons why you should follow your passion and not the money.

money = happiness.

10 Reasons Why Following Your Passion Is More Important Than Money
Money is a very powerful thing, it builds empires and breaks down kingdoms, it allows for dreams to come true and it takes others away, it makes some people happy and others completely miserable. Today the pursuit of money is almost directly linked to the pursuit of happiness, many will argue that money = happiness.

people don’t know what they want until someone tells them

What Mark Twain Knew About Life (and Business, Love, Work, Travel)
The fact is, there a whole lot of people out there who don’t know what they want until someone tells them. Most people look to their peers to decide what to think and do. It’s a natural way to think, and social norms are an immensely powerful influencing force in our lives – more probably than we care to acknowledge. We look to our peers for guidance on any number of mundane and significant life matters, from what to wear, to what career to pick, to what sort of woman or man to marry.

What Mark Twain Knew About Life (and Business, Love, Work, Travel)
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. - Mark Twain

When engaged in an argument with someone, there are a number of lines of reasoning which I tend to reject out of hand. For example, if someone argues that such and such a policy is virtuous based on the fact that Wall Street has responded positively and stocks have risen, I will call foul. Or, if someone were to give me business advice based on the fact that they have an MBA and therefore know better, I would tell them I could give a hoot about their Master of Business Administration.

Eating certain foods boosts hair pigmentation, but avoiding certain foods is also important. High quantities of salt can damage the blood, elevating blood pressure and inhibiting cell production. According to Evolution Hair Centers, processed foods, chips and other snack foods are loaded with salt that damages your hair. 8 Foods That Are Bad For Hair

8 Foods That Are Bad For Hair
8 Foods That Are Bad For Hair

The truth is there are times when we crave what is unhealthy for us even if we know that we should not be eating them. However, there are times when we have hair issues and we are doing all that we can externally to repair hair and to get it to look healthy when the issue may be an internal one.

Recently, my scalp was tender and my hair looked limp and lifeless for no discernible reason, I was doing all the right things, however, I overlooked one important point, my diet was in the pits. I allowed my craving for sodium-laden foods to completely derail my efforts to maintain a healthy diet and my hair suffered. Luckily, I realized my mistake and got back on track in time before my hair started shedding in earnest.

The following foods are not healthy for the body and if they are an addition to your regular diet they may cause some health issues in the long run.

How To Reverse Gray Hair and Keep Your Natural Hair Color
First of all let’s look at the causes of gray hair and try to avoid these precursors to aging. You will need to stay away from sugar, white flour, and added chemicals in food. These foods tend to stress the adrenal gland and decrease the amount of cortisol available for your adrenals, younger living, and better health of the hair.

Kale: Good nutrition for you, just don't overdo - HT Health
Kale: Good nutrition for you, just don't overdo
By Washington Post, Herald-Tribune

By CAROLYN BUTLER
Special to The Washington Post

Every time I pass by that colossal bag of kale at the grocery store or our local farmers market, I have the distinct feeling that I should be eating more of the dark, leafy green. But I'm not sure if that's because celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Ryan Seacrest say I should, or because the trendy veggie has any real, exceptional health benefits.

Turns out there's quite a bit of science behind this super food hype: "Kale is rich in so many different things," says registered dietitian and nutritionist Cheryl Harris, of Harris Whole Health in Fairfax, Va., who notes that the cruciferous veggie — which is in the Brassica family, along with broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage — is an excellent, potent source of Vitamin K, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, fiber and carotenoids, and that's just to start. Research has also shown that kale contains 45 — count 'em, 45 — different flavonoids with a variety of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

[GUIDE] to Removing Stock Apps - 12/21/2012 - Android Forums

I would suggest that you backup up all apps with Titanium Backup and also freezing the apps for a while before uninstalling them (preferably uninstalling them with Titanium Backup as well, as opposed to Root Uninstaller). Everyone uses a phone differently so just because it works for me doesn't mean it'll necessarily work for you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's Get Started
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This guide lists all of the apps that come stock with the phone with/including Virgin Mobile's ZV5 firmware upgrade. Apps are listed in alphabetical order by .apk filename. All stock .apks/apps that are located in /system/app are listed, although some do not have an .apk but do have an app name. In such cases, they will be appended to the end of each section. Similarly, many do not have a description as we're unclear of what they do. If you know of an .apk, app name, and/or description, and it's missing from here, please let me know and I'll add it ASAP!

Key:

Underlined = .apk Filename.
Bold = App Name (as you may find it in, for example, Titanium Backup).
Italicized = Description.
[...] = Name is obscenely and unnecessarily long, and has been shortened.

Due to lack of time after my last daughter was born (5 kids and a wife and job eat up alot of time I have found ) and me no longer having the Elite this thread was in need of updating as I hadn't added the zv5 apps yet. With that i felt it better to turn it over to someone who was still using the Elite and had the time to update it.

Artine was nice enough to step up and create a new updated thread for you guys. You can find the thread here ....

DJ Ashba Almost Died From E-Cigarettes

DJ Ashba Almost Died From E-Cigarettes
DJ Ashba Almost Died From E-Cigarettes
6/30/2013 2:10 PM ET

DJ Ashba, an avid cigarette smoker, turned to electronic cigs to help get his fix, while gradually ridding himself of the habit. Now the Guns n' Roses guitarist claims the decision almost cost him his life.

Ashba recently posted a pic of himself smoking on Instagram, which prompted a user to reply, "I thought you quit the cigs, man?"

Ashba responded:

"I did quit for 9 months. However, I was smoking fake cigarettes that I bought in a mall in Poland which contained high doses of nicotine and antifreeze, which kills people. Nobody knows this, but I was rushed to the hospital put on heart monitors and I had eight of the best doctors trying to save my life."

He added: "Poison control confirmed that the nicotine intake that was going into my body from the fake cigarettes was equivalent to smoking 33 packs of cigarettes a day. After doing a full body Cat scan, the doctors were amazed that every organ in my body was in perfect condition. They advised me to start smoking real cigarettes because my body would go into shock if I just stop smoking, so now I can wean myself off of real cigarettes and hopefully quit for good this time. We purposely kept this out of the press but that is the real story of why I am smoking right now."

Members of Generation X1966 and 1975 really do have something to complain about.

Generation X Fares Poorly During Recession, Says Study | ABC News - Yahoo!
Members of Generation X, the so-called slackers weaned on Saturday morning cartoons, divorce and cynicism, are now in their late 30s to late 40s. And according to a recent report, those born between 1966 and 1975 really do have something to complain about.

Why did my penis and balls shrink after i smoked meth?

Why did my penis and balls shrink after i smoked meth? - Yahoo! Answers
Meth is a drug that has intense effects on the human circulatory and respiratory systems by affecting the nervous system dramatically. Put simply, it tricks the body into fight or flight response without the outside stimulation. So your body shuts down ineffective systems for flight or fight like your digestive and sexual systems. Basically, blood and water get shunted away from those systems. So your penis shrinks and other organs simply shrink because they aren't necessary. As usual, there is no free "high" something in your body and/or mind has to pay for it somehow.

Pineal Gland - the seat of the soul?
While low frequency and magnetic radiation have been shown to reduce melatonin production, some other types of radiation seem to energize the pineal gland. In an article posted many years ago on viewzone, ESP and LST, it was shown that psi or paranormal abilities, such as remote viewing or ESP, were at their peak when the center of the Milky Way galaxy was in a certain position in the sky. The exact time was 13.30 LST (Local Sidereal Time).

The pineal gland

Herbal Remedy Supplements Detoxing Herbs
The pineal gland is a cone-shaped structure in the center of the brain, situated between the superior colliculi, the pulvinar, and the splenium of the corpus callosum. It produces melatonin, which regulates sleep/wake cycles.

In conjunction with the adrenal glands, the Pineal Gland effects skin pigmentation, helps regulate potassium and sodium levels in the body, controls one's mental stability, and controls mental and sexual growth. It is often referred to as the Seat of the Soul.

environmental assaults on the normal functioning of our pineal gland

Pineal Gland - the seat of the soul?
So far we've exposed two major environmental assaults on the normal functioning of our pineal gland. If this is truly the "seat of the soul" or the "gateway to enlightenment" then humanity has successfully scuttled this natural path to self-knowledge. The environment you are in right now -- sitting in front of your computer -- is having a negative effect on your pineal gland. So we ask the question: is there anything we can do to improve the health of this important brain structure? Perhaps there is.

Melatonin, created in the pineal gland hampered by Flouride

Pineal Gland - the seat of the soul?
Melatonin, created in the pineal gland, not only helps regulate the onset of puberty but also helps protect the body from cell damage caused by free radicals. It is now known -- thanks to the meticulous research of Dr. Jennifer Luke from the University of Surrey in England -- that the pineal gland is the primary target of fluoride accumulation within the human body.

The soft tissue of the adult pineal gland contains more fluoride than any other soft tissue in the body -- a level of fluoride (~300 ppm) which is more than capable of inhibiting enzymes. The pineal gland also contains hard tissue (hyroxyapatite crystals), and this hard tissue accumulates more fluoride (up to 21,000 ppm) than any other hard tissue in the body (even the teeth, which it is supposed to protect).

Realizing that the pineal gland was the target of so much fluoride, Dr. Luke conducted animal experiments to determine if the accumulated fluoride could negatively impact the regulation of melatonin. She found that animals treated with fluoride had lower levels of circulating melatonin. This reduced level of melatonin was accompanied by an earlier onset of puberty in the fluoride treated female animals.

Fouride and Pineal Gland

Pineal Gland - the seat of the soul?
Until the 1990s, no research had ever been conducted to determine the impact of fluoride on the pineal gland. Fluoride is a routinely (and sometimes mandatory) additive to almost all drinking water, allegedly to prevent tooth decay. Its use has always been highly controversial and research on the side effects is often discouraged.

60Hz magnetic fields affect pineal gland

Pineal Gland - the seat of the soul?
Studies with human subjects who were exposed to 60Hz magnetic fields also showed this anomaly [6]. This is distressing to learn, since we are all literally surrounded by 60Hz electrical fields in our homes, at work and outside where power lines tower over almost every street. There is no escape from this type of radiation except to flea to remote, unpopulated areas. But even there, the pineal could be under siege.

Remember HAARP? The ionospheric heater invented and patented by by Richard Eastlund which was quickly seized by the Department of Defense, given to Raytheon, and developed into a weapon system? Part of the patent describes how powerful Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) radiation is capable of causing acute drowsiness and interfering with heat regulation --functions of the pineal gland [8]. No doubt this vulnerability has been exploited and refined in the decades since the technology was hi-jacked for an evil agenda. By now there may well be some global grid of "heaters" positioned to control the population and inhibit our spiritual evolution. We can only hope we are wrong. (We'll have more to say on this later.)

Innovation the Savior of the Economy

Superpower to super-broke: Spain's riches to rags story
With job creation set to return only after two years, Spain is looking down at the barrel. Two attributes can lead Spain out of the deep tunnel it has dug for itself and could be buried in it - leadership and innovation - the very traits that powered Spain - the discoverer of the world in the 15th century and a trader par excellence. Meanwhile, it must first prepare to withstand a contracting economy in the near-term and personal hardship, before it again sees the glint of gold.

Superpower to super-broke: Spain's riches to rags story
Spain is not facing just a liquidity crunch - its very fabric of governance has been torn part by corruption. "I am a civil servant and work in a ministry. In Spain, if you want to work in the administration you have to pass very hard exams to get the job. The system is supposed to be used to select people due to their competence but I see very closely how politicians use the administration to give very good jobs to their sons, brothers and sisters. I heard on the radio this week that a kid who brings his own food to school for lunch has to pay about five euros just for it to be looked after yet a member of parliament pays 3.55 euros for a full meal," said Maria, a civil servant.

Even if Spain wants to create jobs it can't - at least not in the numbers it wants to. If you are a graduate in Spain you will find it very difficult to get a job, as you need to be at least an MA or a PhD to land a decent-paying job. At the same time, education is very expensive - so how will jobs be created if there is non-availability of labour or if it's expensive? "I am chasing every vacancy going, like jobs as a waiter, carpenter or plumber on the "black economy", which is what enables many people to gain their bread day in, day out. Three members of my family are currently unemployed: myself, my father and my younger brother. Many people in my neighbourhood rummage through garbage bins looking for something to eat or sell in the black market," said Ignasi Jorro, an unemployed youth.

Superpower to super-broke: Spain's riches to rags story
1590 Spain was shipping huge volume of goods to its colonies but 80 per cent of these goods were imported and not made in Spain itself - as against the British who used to send out British-made goods to India and other colonies. Spain soon began to neglect manufacturing and subsisted on past riches of gold or borrowing on gold. It used its gold to import useless stuff such as bangles and playing cards - hardly the kind of imports to vitalize an economy becoming lazy by the day. Further, the people of Spain did not have the habit to save and wasted money on exotic spices, clothes and arms.

Spain the Superpower

The fall of Spain, the first global superpower, and the fall of the US
It may be hard for most people to imagine, but Spain was the first global Superpower. It gained this status as the defender of Europe against Muslim armies and by leading the West’s exploration of America. In 1492, the same year that Spanish-financed Christopher Columbus discovered the New World, the last Muslim stronghold of Granada was ceded to Ferdinand and Isabella to complete the Catholic Reconquest of the Iberian peninsula... It controlled rich parts of Italy through Naples and Milan, and Central Europe from the Netherlands through the Holy Roman Empire to Austria. In the 16th century it added the far distant Philippine islands to its empire. The Hapsburgs held off the Ottoman Turks, whose resurgent wave of Islamic conquest in the 16th century swept across the Balkans and nearly captured Vienna.

[snip]

Yet, Spanish leaders were deluded by a sense of false prosperity. This is testified by the statement of a prominent official, Alfonso Nunez de Castro in 1675: “Let London manufacture those fine fabrics of hers to her heart's content; let Holland her chambrays; Florence her cloth; the Indies their beaver and vicuna; Milan her brocade, Italy and Flanders their linens...so long as our capital can enjoy them; the only thing it proves is that all nations train their journeymen for Madrid, and that Madrid is the queen of Parliaments, for all the world serves her and she serves nobody.” A few years later, the Madrid government was bankrupt. The Spanish nobleman had foolishly elevated consumption, a use for wealth, above production, the creation of wealth.

Borax,to remove accumulated fluoride and heavy metals from the body

The Borax Conspiracy: Big Pharma's Latest Ploy to Outlaw a Natural Cure for Arthritis, Osteoporosis and Tooth Decay (July 6, 2012)
Boric acid treatment was protective and led to increased resistance of DNA to oxidative damage induced by AFB1. The strong antifungal action of boric acid is, of course, the reason why it has traditionally been used as a food preservative.

Borax, similar to the equally endangered Lugol's iodine solution, can also be used to remove accumulated fluoride and heavy metals from the body (14). Fluoride not only causes bones to deteriorate, but also the pineal gland to calcify and the thyroid to become underactive. Borax reacts with fluoride ions to form boron fluorides which are then excreted in the urine.

In a Chinese study, borax was used to treat 31 patients with skeletal fluorosis. The amount was gradually increased from 300 to 1100 mg/day during a three month period, with one week off each month. The treatment was effective with 50 to 80% improvement.

Health Uses for Borax thumbnail
Hollow potatoes are indicative of boron deficient soil.

Borax has a reputation extending back more than 200 years among medical doctors and homoeopaths for its anti-inflammatory effects on both internal and external parts of the body. Borax is prescribed to supplement boron diet deficiencies that result in debilitating conditions that are indicative of chronic disease. Boron deficiencies can be attributed to decreased hormone production, abnormal calcium uptake, magnesium destabilization and yeast and microbe overgrows. When these deficiencies are normalized, many symptoms of disease can be alleviated.

Womb Inflammation

Doctors of the 19th and 20th centuries recommended that women suffering from womb inflammation soak in lukewarm bathwater with borax twice a day. If women displayed profuse, egg-white-like discharge or leucorrhea, they were told to douche with borax and lukewarm water solution three to four times per day. Other symptoms that can be alleviated by borax and water exposure include heavily clotted menstruation, painful sexual intercourse, blood-streaked vaginal discharge, painful menstruation, abdominal distention and false signs of pregnancy.
Erectile Dysfunction

It has been reported that a quarter of a teaspoon of borax added to one quart of drinking water sipped throughout the course of a day while taking magnesium supplements can reverse male impotency. This can be attributed to many effects of borax on the human body. Borax stabilizes calcium and magnesium in the blood. It stimulates hormone production. Toxic states of hyper fluoride accumulation, internal fungal growth and dangerous microbe production are normalized by borax consumption. Finally, borax has been attributed to female libido enhancement as well.
Arthritis

During the 1960s naturopathic doctor Rex Newnham self-experimented with borax ingestion to supplement a boron deficiency in his diet. He discovered that the inflammation and joint stiffness he suffered was alleviated after taking 30 milligrams of borax twice per day for three weeks. In addition, the relief lasted for an entire year before he had to resume the regimen. Borax controls the amoeba that is attributed to rheumatoid arthritis. Boron-fortified mouthwashes treat pyorrhea, arthritis of the teeth and gums. Spondylitis, arthritis of the spine, Still's disease, juvenile arthritis, gout, uric acid buildup and osteoporosis are all responsive to borax supplements.

borax prevents unhealthy crosslinking between the proteins and sugar

Borax Cures Questions
borax prevents unhealthy crosslinking between the proteins and sugar. This means the sugar will not react with protein which causes glycation, but as well, the use of a small amount of borax actually increases healthy flora by reducing mycobacterium and fungal like bacteria from existing in the intestinal tract.

Borax. It de-calcifies the pineal gland, apparently. Where your Spidey senses live. And The Force.

today i started drinking Borax | The Ladies' Guide to the Apocalypse
All drinking Borax aside, I bought bottled water for the first time today. Like, ever, besides for camping trips. A Mississippi girl refuses to say it’s bad to swim in the Mississippi River (in the shallow non-currenty parts anyway), and she will always go barefoot by the lake even when there’s broken glass. I used to drink tap water always, firmly believing in my superhuman immune system, defiantly in favor of the “a little dirt don’t hurt” credo, and thankful for a chance to build up my superpowers even more. But now there will be so much benzene in the water table, it’s time to switch to water from someplace else. Almost all of the water in America is fluoridated, though, just like toothpaste. Which is why I’ve been flossing, rinsing with hydrogen peroxide, and brushing with Dr. Tichenor’s peppermint mouthwash. And drinking Borax. It de-calcifies the pineal gland, apparently. Where your Spidey senses live. And The Force.

WOULD BORON WORK INSTEAD OF BORAX?

Borax Cures Questions
WOULD BORON WORK INSTEAD OF BORAX?
08/17/2008: Mary from Port Orange, Florida: "I am a little leary of using the borax laundry soap and was wondering if using a boron supplement would give the same result? What is found in the health food store is Tri-Boron Plus, made by Twinlab. Each capsule has 1.5 mg of boron, with serving size being 2 capsules. It also has magnesium, calcium, vitamin D and a couple others. If this will work, how many mg per day of the boron do you suggest? Thanks, I'll be looking for your response.

Keep up the good work, your site provides a wealth of information!"

03/30/2011: Causes Not Bandaids from London, Uk replies: "Hi, I have a question regarding this. Am I correct that the active ingredient in the Borax doing the 'work' is the Boron? And if so, does it follow that taking Boron would work, if you took the right doseage? Would it need to be pure (ie only Boron - if you can get that! ) and would capsules or liquid be needed?

Also, I read on here about Baking Soda (or Baking Soda with ACV) - does that do the same thing as Borax?

Many thanks in advance."

04/30/2011: Spirit Bear from Minto, N.b Canada replies: "Boron is Borax :-)... The chemical name is sometimes Calcium or Sodium Borate (If I recall correctly) and it's usually labeled Boron (mineral supplement) or Borax (the all natural detergent). I personally think it's a tad safer to use Boron supplements to avoid any possible contaminants from Borax.. But sometimes Boron is unavailable and Borax is a very cheap source of this essential mineral (it's a fairly large box), plus the high dilution makes for insignificant health risk in relation to it's benefits... The LDF for Borax (point at which it becomes dangerous) is actually higher than sea salt, so it's quite safe assuming the dose is not too high (1/4 teaspoon to one litre of water). It shouldn't have any fragrance added, as I have seen before. But yes, Boron is definately Borax."

sugar needs phosphorous

Away with Arthritis
Sugar requires phosphorous for its metabolism as does white bread and caffeine (tea, coffee). Phosphorous is removed from the bone to metabolise these common foods where processing has removed many of the original minerals. Sugar utilises phosphorus, magnesium and chromium. When phosphorus is withdrawn from bone, calcium comes out too and as it is not needed is excreted in the urine. Soft drinks have both sugar and more phosphorus than is needed for sugar metabolism. The excess phosphorous combines with calcium upsetting the calcium phosphorus balance resulting in less available calcium. Caffeine also requires phosphorus and magnesium to metabolise. Sodium and potassium are lost at the same time.
